The Stakes and Challenges

The stakes: identifying competences,
promoting age diversity
With today’s unfavourable age pyramid and recruitment difficulties, is
digital expertise still going to be part of the businesses of 2020? There
are some doubts, as it may be that new skills are only brought through
external partners, who would systematically be project stakeholders.
One of the challenges is to anticipate the necessary
skills and train collaborators at the outset, to acquire
for example, skills in business architecture, business
integration,
business intelligence
…
This need to adapt affects all business sectors that cannot
function without IT systems.
Todo this, the collaborators of 2020must capitaliseon their professional
networks, through internal and external business communities, to
learn about the best practices throughout other businesses, sectors
and countries.
Thus we’ll experience the development of true diversity in terms of
age, regions and players (internal and external). In the past, it wasn’t
uncommon for an engineer to work in the same technological field for
fifteen years; nowadays, he needs a range of skills, and to be ready to
change team, company and country.
