Globalisation and “servicisation ”
Our world has been characterised, over the last fifteen years, by
profound transformations due to globalisation, innovation and
recent crises (economic, environmental, social, and political). These
transformations are going to continue to change our environment over
the long term.
Firstly, because
the exhaustion of natural resources
is intensifying
competition, and environmental issues (pollution, global warming)
are putting growing pressure on economic stakeholders and on public
authorities.
Secondly,
globalisation
,
as we have known it over the last fifteen
years, will not continue in the same manner: indeed, competition from
emerging countries (BRICs) is breaking into the fields of innovation and
quality, whilst other less advanced countries (in Africa, Latin America
and Asia) are becoming the new suppliers of cheap labour.
Finally, “
servicisation
is the sign of an ever more advanced integration
of products and services. It comes hand-in-handwith the accelerationof
innovation, in particular in the fields of medicine, genetics, healthcare,
education, energy usage…
