Secondly, for management boards, this work is a guide to
understanding both the strategic and managerial challenges of the
transformation: open innovation, data, globalisation, collective
approaches, mobility, flexibility, partnerships, expertise and security.
It will also be a support for dialogue between general management
and the different business sectors, so that together, they will be able
to lead their companies to success in the digital world.

Finally, this work holds the conviction that digital technology does
not only promise value creation thanks to new business models,
but above all, an opportunity for development and sustainable
performance that takes into account economic, social and
environmental values.
To summarise, this vision, fusing economics with digital technology,
calls for a systematic method for spotting important changes in the
digital ecosystem. This must lead to an as precise evaluation as possible,
in order for decision-makers to be able to judge the depth of change
within their businesses.
Three conditions must be met to ensure the success of our companies’
digital transformation. The first is defining a strategic vision for the
medium-to-long term: general management must identify the most
suitable digital trajectories for their businesses. The second concerns
the commitment of managers and other collaborators of the business,
without whom a digital strategy will inevitably fail. The third condition,
a shared responsibility, concerns the proper implementation of
pertinent strategy and a common vision.
