What will be the dominant mode of production by the year 2020, in the age of massive digitalization? Well, Professor Ahmed Bounfour1 suggests in his academic work that the answer will be the acceluction regime. The author has coined this term to refer to the fact that enterprises will accelerate the production of links with unclearly defined and volatile production spaces….
“The expansion of value creation spaces is probably the most powerful and significant trend. The value creation space is expanding to incorporate company stakeholders, social spaces, mobility and personal time. Value creation spaces are now multiple in character, but ever more integrated, thanks to the ubiquity of digital technologies and the acceleration they drive (see below). This aspect is crucial to the design of the 2020 company; its digital infrastructures, and the way they are managed and regulated will inevitably be different […] the managerial implications: Each of the projects highlighted the managerial implications for its area of research. At this point it seems that the management pattern emerging for the 2020 company will need to deal with multiple (production) link spaces, governed by new rules”.
